Wallpaper* and Barbican are holding a animation competition and have whittled the contenders down to 6. Your vote will choose the final winner. The competition, Watch Me Move: The Animation Show will run till September 11 with a special screening at Barbican September 8th. I love Betty by Jessica Wainwright, not only for the narrative but the subtle effects and the giant cuppa!

I was sent an email from the Academy of Art University about some of their student work submitted to the Adobe Design Achievement Awards.

"The Adobe® Design Achievement Awards celebrate student achievement reflecting the powerful convergence of technology and the creative arts. The competition - which showcases individual and group projects created with industry-leading Adobe creative software - honors the most talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, developers and computer artists from the world's top institutions of higher education. "

There's some really good work showcased from up and coming designers. Here are a few of my favorites. Check it out!

The folks at Bridgman: Art Culture History are putting together a sort of mash up competition. This is an opportunity to take inspiration from masters of the past and combine their art with your own glorious talent creating a modern version of what that work means to you.

The deadline is December 1, 2009

Check it out.
